Assessment Procedures Level 1 Recognize the importance of observing and gathering information relating to children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical development. COA 1.2.1 Level 2 Observe, identify and discuss the importance of using a variety of methods for the documentation of cognitive, socio- emotional, and physical development on an on- going basis. COA 1.2.2 Level 3 Develop, plan, select, and schedule procedures for health and developmental screening using methods which: o Are reliable and valid o Are sensitive to dual language learners and/or children with special needs.
