Supporting Families in Raising Children Level 1 Recognize the value of sharing child-rearing information and resources with families. FCP 2.8.1 Level 2 Engage in regular and on-going opportunities to exchange information with families pertinent to learning and child development. Support families as they find their own way to raise their children. FCP 2.8.2 Level 3 Identify opportunities to access childrearing information from sources such as: o Libraries o Internet o Pediatrician or health care providers Assist families with at-home tools and strategies to support their child-rearing skills. Ensure approaches suggested are consistent with recognized evidence-based best practices. FCP 2.8.3 Level 4 Create opportunities for parents to access developmentally appropriate materials and information regarding parenting, children’s well-being, learning and development, and family health. Provide learning opportunities for staff, parents, and caregivers to discuss recognized evidence-based best practices related to parenting, children’s well-being, learning and development, and family health topics. Communicate parent education and training opportunities outside of the program as well as those offered within.
